Breakthrough

This is my friend Jenny's little boy, Marshall. Do you kind of want to squeeze him and cover him with kisses? Me too. I get to watch him once a week, so you think I would be able to do this, but unfortunately Marshall is not always his usual cheerful little self when he is at our house. He is very scared of Dirk and we spend most of the time working on not crying when Dirk barks out the window (approximately every 2-3 minutes) or tries to sniff and lick Marshall (approximately every 8 minutes). Basically poor Marshall gets traumatized once a week. But this past Friday we had a breakthrough.

I distracted Marshall with some Easter gel clings for the window and all was well for a good 5 minutes...until Dirk barked at Jenny when she pulled up. Baby steps, baby steps.

Ammo and Sister Wives

Sometimes you just gotta go to Utah.

Sometimes you gotta go to Zion National Park for a little hike.

Sometimes, if you're Cami, you gotta drive like a billion hours to spend 36 hours with your cute niece.

Sometimes you gotta go to In 'N Out, and that cute niece might try to steal some chocolate shake.

Sometimes, if you're Ashleigh, you gotta ditch work so you can hang out with Lily, too.

Can't blame 'em.

And sometimes you wish you had taken a picture of you with your sisters-in-law buying ammo at the St. George Wal*Mart with all the polygamist sister wives. But you didn't.

Ironical

  • The people I see finishing up their cigarettes before they go into the gym
  • The daycare that is right next door to the Gentlemen's Club
  • Going under the speed limit until the light is just about to turn red
You crack me up, Milwaukee! But before you think I'm getting too sassy, I want to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for this early spring.

Reason #257 Why I'm a Bad Person

We gave Giselle away. I am a bad cat mom. She was waking us up several times a night by making loud noises downstairs where she and the dog slept. I would wake up to what sounded like someone moving furniture downstairs. I'd go downstairs to investigate. Giselle and Dirk would be innocently laying on their respective beds. Hours later, the same thing would happen. We tried putting her in the bathroom at night - strange noises came out of there, too. We bought her a scratch pad. Maybe she was scratching? We never solved the mystery of what exactly she was doing, but this went on for months. Finally Tim's classmate Christine said she had been thinking of getting a cat after graduation and would be happy to take Giselle. As we were giving Christine all of Giselle's items (who buys a cat a leash? oh yeah, me), she says, "Oh good, it looks like the crazy cat lady starter kit." True that.

I do miss our kitty...

Relive some of Giselle's summer killing sprees on Tim's blog here, here, here, here oh and here.

I know (knew) famous people (person)

All the cool kids are talking about that newer show, "Community", so Tim and I decided to give it a try the other night. As we're watching it, I said, "That girl looks like this girl I went to middle school with...look up who that is." Well what do you know? It's Alison Schmerhorn! She goes by Alison Brie now, and I guess she was also on that show "Mad Men" as well. She was a year ahead of me in school and good friends with some of my friends from Church. I realize this would be a cooler story if we were best buds, but... So anyway, for all you Community fans, Annie is really Alison, and I knew she was a star when I watched her lip synch Lovefool by The Cardigans at our middle school lip synch contest.
